I Wanna Be Entertained...!!

TechnicsYes, you’ve guessed it, we’re on the deejay’s case again. Basically, as a tradition, musical entertainment plays a VERY BIG PART in our lives. Most of us rave at least once a month (usually on pay day) but there are those who rave every week even two or three times a week. We go to clubs, wine bars, parties... all sorts of hang outs. Maybe our taste in music will vary but, one common factor is that when we go out, we are subject to listening to a few men (or women) play a selection of music that is supposed to entertain us. We pay good money to get into these venues and, at the end of the day, we EXPECT that we’re gonna get our money’s worth…. NO, WRONG!

Most Annoying Disc Jockey Habits…

Welcome to the second staging of this patucular G MaG Blog Spot…. Yes, we’ve already run it Classic Grambut, it was so popular that we’re running it again. And, you know the drill... we’re gonna sound off about all and everything that we find enjoyable, pleasurable, interesting, intriguing and of course, annoying...!!
Ok, as a person who simply loves ALL forms of Black Music (from Reggae to Ragga, Soul to Soca, Hip-hop to High-life, Jazz to Jungle, Gospel to Garage and everything in between), I often have to rely on Community Radio to get my fill. And, what with living in London, I’m totally spoilt for choice as these days, there are specialist community radio stations catering for every type of genre mentioned above. This is great…. all is well and all is good EXCEPT for ONE major FACTOR… the Disc Jock and his bag of LONG TALKING…!!!

Youth Crisis

THE YOUTH CRISIS

It’s a sad state of affairs for our youngsters today as they are engaged in an increasingly violent and brutal war against themselves and so far, none of the Leaders of the Political Parties have put it on their agenda. The Authorities have an outdated view of the problem that exists amongst our young people. We have a Mayor who is out of touch with the youth and a Political Party who have done nothing to champion youth development in their 10 year run.
