Was it ever a consultation?

Consultation means comparing options.

Centralisation is not consultation.

One option is not a consultation.

A pre-decided plan is not a consultation.

Consultation means listening before deciding.

Consultation means alternatives on the table.

If the answer was already chosen, was it ever consultation?

Home birth needs options, not ultimatums.

Centralise or stay closed is not a choice.

Community birth needs community midwives.

Taking birth away from community midwives is like taking scissors away from a hairdresser.

You cannot rebuild community birth by removing birth from community midwifery.

Community midwives are not just clinic staff. Birth is part of the craft.

If midwives don’t attend births, how do they keep birth skills alive?

Birth skills grow through birth, not spreadsheets.

Local birth needs local knowledge.

County-wide on paper. Fragile in real life.

Equal on paper is not equal in practice.

Women do not give birth on paper.

Real homes. Real roads. Real distances. Real risks.

A rural county needs local care.

Do not call it restoration if it dismantles what remains.

Restoration should not mean centralisation.

Restore home birth. Protect local midwifery.

Not just open on demand. Open when women need it.

Stroud is not a building. It is a service.

A birth unit is not a pop-up shop.

Continuity is not a luxury. It is safety.

Relationship is part of the safety plan.

Known midwives. Safer planning. Better care.

No more decisions about women without women.

No maternity redesign without public scrutiny.

Public services require public accountability.

Show us the evidence. Compare the options.

Publish the appraisal. Protect the service.

Women deserve more than reassurance.

Midwives deserve more than redeployment.

Babies deserve better than fragile systems.
